Our wedding day..

So I have had quite a few people ask about my wedding day, about the stress, money, ideas and just how it went on the actual day.

So I thought I’d give it ago and write about it🤷🏼‍♀️

I’ll start with how he proposed 😱

It was 23rd of May 2015..

We had been out for the day and went round my parents house for dinner; after tea I went outside to play with the dogs and have a mess around, I turn round and I see my parents in the window staring out. I thought nothing of this😂

I sat down on the bench and he sat next to me started talking all serious one one rose in his hand.

He then began to shake😂 I couldn’t help but laugh.

He then said that he loved me so much and he knew he wanted to be with me forever and that he couldn’t imagine his life without me, I started to get teary and he grabbed my hand and got on one knee.

He then asked me to be his wife and if I could answer quickly as the dogs where about to bound him over 😂 (two German Shepard’s) 😂

Of course I said yes because he was my world and I’d be waiting for him to get off his arse since we had moved in together 💁🏼‍♀️😂

Anyway we then thought we’d do a engagement party not sure if many people do but we thought why not get all the family together in our local pub, celebrate and have a good laugh.

14th of June 2015 we had our little get together now thinking back that was the date phoebe was conceived this year😱 omg spooky🤯

I will try insert some photos if I can go back that far😂

we had all family and friends, our own food and drink and we hired a singer she was fab!

I got wasted and had work the next day😂 not great I no 😂

Think it wasn’t to pricey as we did our own bits going to say £200? With the bottles of bubble and that.

After a week it settled in that we needed to book a date we’ll choose a date I didn’t want to be that couple who got engaged for the sake of it then didn’t get married for 5-10years.

We planned to get married 2016 but we knew it would be a push for saving as we had only moved out a year ago.

So we said 2017 somewhen🤷🏼‍♀️

So 7th of November 2015 we decided on a date.

June the 3rd 2017.

That’s when it hit us we had to save everything we had but still enjoy ourselves and be able to live 😂

We asked both our parents for help and they both agreed to pay for the venue and decor + flowers and our post box👌🏼

We chose the grasmere house hotel for our after do. We did 55 people to eat including us.

We picked the second menu as is was the best and suited a lot more people.

Think it awaa £22.50 a head. Roughly. And corkage was £5 a bottle and we had 8 I think.

And the decor and flowers totalled to roughly £600.

We then had the church to pay for ourselves which included the bells, vicar and organist cost us £900.

The cars we paid for so for me and my dad to get to the church and the bridesmaids. Cost £550. They also took me and my husband from the church to venue and the bridesmaids.

Our dj cost around £85

He was fab he works with his wife and they was a right hit!

Lots of games and decorated lovely! And his set up time was fricken amazing 😂

Suits was hired and paid for by the husbands nan.

Wedding dress – £900.

Bridesmaid dresses £25 each. They paid for their own as a gift to me💖

Photographer was gifted by my dad – £1,000 including 40 photos in a hard back album and CD.

Make up – we had a local lovely girlie Erin.

All depended what you wanted if you wanted full blown everything including lashes she charged the bridesmaids £25 or dyed down was £15. Including mother hen. Bride was £50. We all had trials and I got it for free the girls paid £10 each. So we knew what we was having on the day so it was quicker and she had it all ready and out.

Cake was gifted- family member – 3 tire – red velvet, chocolate and cream sponge, and plain I think🤭

Hair- done by my sister in laws auntie.

£50 for bride and £25 for girls and mother. Roughly. We had trials and it was £15 each.

In our save the date invites we popped a poem asking for money/euros for honeymoon. I’ll try find it as it was such a lovely way to ask we already lived together we didn’t need anything and had everything. Also we have never had a holiday together only in the uk.

So in between all that their was meetings, lots of Pinterest ideas; flower choices. Colour schemes, church meetings. I have to say I only got stressed out when the payments started to take action😂 just seeing all the money disappear before the day it’s heart breaking but so worth it! The last 3 months was the hardest as you had people pulling out or messing your around which you DO NOT NEED. But it happens.

So the big day…

The day before..

I had booked my nails to be done nice and early 9.15 and afterwards mum treated me to a pre pre wedding breakfast 😍 and we had a little time together, we then met all the bridesmaids at my parents and we all chilled in our pjs, they did their nails and I helped, we did face masks that our make up artist told us to use the day before..

Of course I got a spot the day before as you do😂 so the toothpaste came out 💁🏼‍♀️

One bridesmaid left due to little one at home. The rest stayed and we shared a bed 😂 was like the good old days💕

I big day..

I woke up last 😂 I got woke up at 6.30 by my bridesmaids scream it’s WEDDING DAY! I couldn’t of asked for better bridesmaids.

My mum had placed a order with the cafe down the road for all of us to have breakfast baguettes 👌🏼 perfection. I had 1 cuppa tea and then the girls opened the bubbles and blasted the radio on.

After 8 hit it all started Erin showed up and jo so hair and make up was go go go! Then all the flowers arrived and it was the first time I was seeing them and they were perfect and just what I asked for🙌🏼

It didn’t really hit me I was getting married till the dress went on. Then that was it I was shitting myself.

Husband side.

Day before he left me at 12. And met up with his best man and family.

They had drinks and stayed at his mums.

They had to be at the church by 2.

So in the morning they had breakfast and few drinks and left the house after 12.30.

While back with me…

The bridesmaids put their dresses on and I couldn’t help by cry😔 just so beautiful and I was so proud and happy!

Luckily I was mid make up and hair 😂

I then was walking around in my underwear waiting to be helped into my dress..

It went on and there photographer appeared 👏🏼

Perfect. The sun was beaming and was so hot it was so beautiful 👏🏼 I felt like both our grandads was looking down on us giving us the sunshine 💖

My mum opened the door for my dad to see me for the first time and we both couldn’t help but tear up.

He was so proud of me and what I had become💕

We then dashed around for photos and after the bridesmaids done their part they got in there car and headed off to the church.

Dad helped me into the car with my dress and flowers 😂 barely any room for him in the car with my dress💁🏼‍♀️

He grabbed my hand and said do you still want to go through with this..

I laughed and he said no I’m not kidding.

I crunched his hand and said I have never been more ready for anything in my life and with all that I have been through with broken bones and operations this is the most scariest thing I have ever done 😂

We drove up and I was sweating 1 to do with heat and 2 with being so scared.

We got to the church and had photos by the car. We walked up and I nearly fell as my legs were like jelly.

The vicar came out and shock my dads hand and said you ready to give her away.

He said ASAP 😂 vicar laughed I nearly cried 😂 as soon as the organist started to play my heart stopped and my chest went tight.

As soon as we started to walk it all went away seeing everyone their getting emotional and people so happy for us it was just amazing.

Dad gave me away and I grabbed Kurts hand and we both said we are shitting it😂

After we started saying our vows it disappeared cause we knew at the end of this we are man and wife 💕

We had a reading done by my bridesmaid hannah. Which was beautiful 💖

We had 3 hymns in between readings and vows.

Everyone loves a sing along 😂

We then got blessed and had to sign papers.

We had James blunt – bonfire heart playing while signing and had photos taken.

We then walked out and had photos taken outside the church.

We got in our car and started to head towards the venue talking to each other how scared and amazed we were 🤭

Anyway there had been a accident around 2 oclock and the road was blocked and couldn’t get through and had to go the long way round so we got our moneys worth for our cars😂

Lucky our wedding was at 2.30 and the vicar said to be their by 1ish otherwise we wouldn’t of got married till way late and would have missed out on a lot with the venue.

Anyway we got to the venue and we had Prosecco with fruit punch for welcome drinks with normal bubbly.

Photos where taken while everyone gathered and got drinks and met everyone and I think my face stayed the same for hours with smiling and saying thanking and yes it’s mad we are married 😂🙌🏼

Was lovely though. Had no rain all day until we went in for food so luckily we missed it and it needed being muggy like rain forest weather.

We had all the yummy food, the speeches were done my dad maid me cry and the fact he didn’t want to do one and was so worried and lost sleep over it just made me feel so proud of him and I love him dearly.

I couldn’t of done any of this without my mum and dad they were our rock throughout!

Plenty of wine, bubbly, pints, shots the lot were consumed 👏🏼 but I remember everything and it was perfect I will always remember every small detail and I couldn’t of wished for better people to spend our amazing day with💖

We stayed in the hotel that night as mum and dad paid for a room and they stayed as well❤️ and we had breakfast in the morning.

We got our key for the post box and OMG it was crazy on how many cards we got👌🏼

We took our flowers and put them in my granddads graves and my other half’s side kept them and put them next to his grandads ashes.

We went home that day and we got in and flopped on the sofa and slept 😂

In the evening we opened our card and we couldn’t of been more grateful.

We got over £800 in cash and £400 in euros.

And we also found out a few weeks before the wedding my mum and dad paid for our honeymoon 🙌🏼 I cried for days 😂 cause I never thought I’d board a plan again 😂💕
