We decided to go away for our wedding anniversary this year as Phoebe was older and could enjoy it with us. Last year we went for a lovely meal and spent 3 whole hours without her I mean she was only 3 months old at this point.
So we booked Brighton about a few months before hand and started to get bits ready as we had never stayed away from home with a baby before 😯 so it was all new to us and I can tell you now one suitcase wasn’t enough🤣
So I packed everything up on the 2nd June and we got up the next day around 8ish, gave each other our cards and made a brew and had a slice of cake that we got Gifted by Bakerdays. It was a lovely original strawberry and vanilla sponge and had our wedding photo on top with the words happy 2 year wedding anniversary. It tasted beautiful! And it can be posted through your door what more could you want!
We didn’t really do gifts as we were going away and treating ourselves up there.
we left the house at 9.30 to get the 10.40 train.
We only had one change which was good.
Phoebe was so good on the train and loved every moment of it.
We got into Brighton at 1.20. We walked from the train station to our hotel as it was only 20 minutes away and the weather was beautiful.
Once we arrived in our room which had an amazing view of the sea (just saying) and settled in we got a drink at the bar and sat outside and then took a walk into the town which only took 5 minutes. Got some snacks and drinks for the room and grabbed some early dinner.
We didn’t stay up to late as we were knackered from the traveling so we headed to bed around 10.30.
The next day Phoebe woke up at 6.40 and of course we woke up to, so we made a cuppa and put the telly on. Headed down to breakfast at 8.30 had a full English, Phoebe had fruit and toast.
We then got ourselves ready as we were kindly gifted tickets to go to sea life in Brighton and we couldn’t be more excited they opened at 10 so we got in for 11.
It was MASSIVE we had such a lovely time we let Phoebe loose with the rains so she could walk around she managed to walk the whole way round before getting tired. I mean she barely looked at any fish as she was to excited to walk everywhere but we put her in the pushchair had some lunch then went round again and she saw everything and so did we👏🏻
We stayed a good 3 hours and then headed to the pier. Phoebe was knackered but refused to sleep so she had the OH phone with peppa on while we had a well deserved alcoholic beverage.
It started to rain so we thought best of it and head back to the hotel luckily we missed the down pour. Phoebe fell asleep on the way back and slept for a good 2 hours so we had a nap to. Woke up at 5 and the weather was hot again. So we dressed up gave phoebe some dinner in the hotel as I packed some pouches. Then we went out for dinner.
Phoebe has some of my chips and beef.
I had beef fajitas and the OH had a full rack of ribs.
We also had a few cocktails then headed back to the hotel around 7.30/8 Phoebe went straight to sleep and we watched a film and crashed.
Next morning we didn’t need to be out till 11 so we had decided to chill in the room till 10. Packed everything up which was a right nightmare since the OH bought half of primark while we were there.
We left our suitcase behind the desk. Didn’t bother with their breakfast as it was a bit stingy so we wondered down the town and found a lovely cafe and had a decent size breakfast.
Phone had sausages, hash browns and some fruit cake with jam. We both had 2 large full English’s 😂 why not hey.
We then walked around the town and our hotel had a lovely huge park opposite with a pool and the weather was lovely once again so we went in there for a good 2 hours then walked along all the beach huts and got a icecream while phoebe had a nap. We then went back into the centre went to a Lego store and made ourselves as mini figures!
Went back to the hotel around 4.
Got a taxi to the train station to get the 4.30 train and we headed back home. Got back around 6.30ish missed our bus so got fish and chips for tea and ate them while waiting.
Got home after 7 Phoebe was in bed by 7.30.
And we were in bed by 10😂
Can safely say 2 nights away goes so quickly.
But we had a fantastic time and Phoebe loved every moment of it and so did we.
On to the next holiday
