So I did a TTC journey and I thought id do a little pregnancy blog to.
Im currently 37 weeks pregnant and about to pop any day now, I’m well and truly excited to meet our rainbow boy. Its been a long time coming and we are well and truly ready for him to come.
We’ve tried to explain to Phoebe that her baby brother is soon to make his arrival. We’ve included her in all the preparation like helping me pack my hospital bag to choosing outfits.
I had terrible sickness from 7 weeks to 18 weeks. I was feeling constantly sick but not actually being sick. couldn’t eat much had to eat little and often and if I did eat it would be dry toast or plain biscuits. Of course if you read my TTC blog you’ll know we didnt tell a soul till around 14 weeks. So it was very hard to hide me looking like death but we managed.
Apart from that I’ve had no issues which has been fantastic.
Where Phoebe was born ‘small’ 5lb 7oz they wanted to keep an eye on little man and give me regular growth scans. Which sounded great as I got to see him every 3 weeks after 26 weeks.
We hit the pandemic ( coronavirus) end of march and I was around 26 weeks pregnant. We weren’t aloud partners with us at scans or appointments. Kurt finished work around the 20th of march and we had no idea when his work would re open and I got signed off as I was over the 3rd trimester.
I was so scared going to scans alone as you never know what your going to find or get told alone. but everything was going so well and he was a line above his sister which was fab.
We had one scare during the pandemic as I had reduced movements but once I was hooked up he went crazy. typical aha. but it was calm and the midwifes were so relaxed which made me at ease.
Baby H is measuring around 5lb 7oz at the last growth scan which was 1st of June, he has slowed down slightly so they checked with the doctor and he said its fine as everything else is growing perfectly and I could just possibly carry small babies. They booked me in for another scan 2 weeks from then rather than 3 weeks just to keep an eye.
I had a phonemail about my birth plan and I’ve wanted a water birth since trying to conceive with little man and with having a VBAC I wasn’t sure it was possible but the midwife said nothing is off limits its just they have to explain the risk factors before the go head. I feel confident and excited for a natural birth and ive said I don’t want to be drugged up or attached to things unless it’s well and truly needed. iv said gas and air and the midwife mentioned a TENs machine so I have got one at the ready. I managed to get to 4cm with Phoebe before even realising I was in labour. so I’m hoping I can boss this aha if that’s even possible I have a very high pain threshold and I’m very prepared for what is to come.
Kurt went back to work after 12 weeks off its been a crazy time but also lovely to have him home to spend some quality time with Phoebe before her brother comes. Its been nice to have routine back but also scary that he’s back at work and the pandemic is still happening.
I have another scan on the 15th along with a discussion about having a water birth. I’m super excited that this could be our last scan before meeting baby H. if you’ve been following me on Instagram I have weekly updates on bump and what’s going on in our lives so please go check it out – http://www.instagram.com/lifewiththeladds
The next time I’m here it will be to right about my birth with baby H. I’m hoping to vlog some of my labour for my YouTube channel. so keep your eye pealed.
See you soon.xx
